Course curriculum

From a Door Tech point of view, there are times where you will work for as long as a month or two, and pretty much every door you repair, will be a standard, modern door that you see every day, a couple slider repairs here, a low energy door repair there, and a full energy door repair there, and then, there is "That service call" either you cringe when you get it, or your sent there for the first time late on a Friday afternoon! Either way the door is a "relic" and it never runs more than a couple weeks before it "needs another repair" it was great for its vintage 20 years ago, but now, the controls, & drive system are inadequate, inconsistent, unreliable & just not able to keep up with todays pedestrian traffic. The Door seems to be broken and left wide open More than it runs. You can make a band aid repair but the cable is going to slip out of adjustment next week for sure, or when the doors do not open fast enough for the people, because the sensors are almost dead, and the control just doesn't have the modern circuitry to move the door efficiently. There are many reasons to offer this service, the bottom line is, you will take a discouraged ( maybe even disgusted)customer who has been dumping money into a door that never runs more than a "minute" without breaking again. A RETROFIT KIT can SAVE THE DAY!! If the door panels, are in good shape, not all bent & twisted with the glass falling out of them (there are times when a door needs to be replaced) BUT Most of the time, You can offer this customer a Retrofit Kit Upgrade that removes every component "inside the header making the door Automatic" including the control board, the interface, the motor gear, the belt, the tensioner wheel, even the switches and the Sensors if needed. The DC1 kit has been around for years and like any great product is always being "improved upon and updated in itself", it is made to fit into whatever door system you have that is worn out. We start from the very first step of the operation and cover every step in real life detail, to the completed job status. Nothing missing or hidden, no mystery, just a smashing explosive "rebirth" of a door where the customer was told Many times.....you need a new door....Most times that is not necessary. Keep in mind, once this project ability is under your belt, there truly will be NO "Automatic Sliding Door" that you can not make run like new!
